#7 - May Flowers!

#7 - May Flowers!

The rest of the month of April and going into the beginning of May proved to be full of interesting National Holidays; we had fun celebrating!

One of the highlights of April came on Saturday, April 29, when we had the awesome privilege to be a part of the “Inaugural Community Day'' supporting Autism. Parenting Autism United sponsored an enjoyable family-friendly afternoon supporting families living with Autism, which was free to attend and no registration required. There were fun activities for all ages and the money raised helps support the existing programs at Parenting Autism United.  There were resources, raffles and fun, fun, fun for everyone!

What gave me the most pride was seeing my daughter, Crystalyn, in action demonstrating to the parents and children how to make “Rain Sticks” and “Sensory Bottles” which they can make at home with what they have - things that can soothe or stimulate the souls of the kids who participated. I witnessed the ease of patience, love and expertise she showed while interacting with each and every child who came to our table. It was satisfying to see them happy and smiling, and with a sense of achievement when they left with something she helped them make.

We had a chance to be around so many of the unsung heroes who are the parents and guardians of this special needs community.  We were blown away by the dedication, patience and love for these kids that were all around us.

This is the month to celebrate Teachers and Moms.

Crystalyn made a boatload of designs for shirts, mugs, and tumblers to celebrate all the wonderful educators we are blessed to have.

Special attention was also made to celebrate all Moms…even for the Dog and Cat Moms!

When we think of May, what comes first to mind are the beautiful blooms we see on the flowers that are all around us. (We have had enough rain to make that happen!).

To help show May off, she featured designs like “Just Bloom," “Crazy Plant Lady” and “Just Breathe” for shirts, mugs and tumblers, to name a few.

There are still more surprises to come which we are looking forward to sharing with you soon.

Looking forward to the next time we get together.
