Wonderful Days of Summer – July & August 2025
I don’t know about you, but I wait all year for summer. There’s just something about the warm air, long days, and sunshine that makes me want to soak it all in before it slips away. Sometimes I even push work aside for a bit—because let’s be honest, the e-mails will still be there tomorrow, but summer won’t!
July came in hot… and humid… but every sticky moment was worth it for the time spent with family and friends. Barbecues, pool time, and both indoor and outdoor craft fairs kept us busy and smiling. One highlight was July 26 at the Wyoming Valley Mall’s Christmas in July event, where I met the elf himself—Santa Claus! He traded in his classic red suit for a Hawaiian shirt, red shorts, and a grin that could rival the summer sun. Even with his packed “off-season” schedule, he made time to take a picture with me!
July also brought some very special news—my granddaughter Tiffany is engaged to Carlos! Their wedding is set for October 24, 2025, and we couldn’t be happier for them.
August kept the heat going and gave us Tiffany’s bridal shower on Saturday, August 9. It was such a lovely day, with family, friends, and yes—even a few brave gentlemen, including the groom-to-be. The venue was beautiful, the food was delicious, and her maid of honor truly outdid herself. I even enjoyed the bridal shower games—though I’ll admit, I didn’t win any prizes!
Now we’re looking ahead to one of our favorite fall events—the Luzerne County Fair! Mark your calendars for Wednesday, September 3 through Sunday, September 7, 2025. We’re gearing up for a week of fun, community, and maybe even a funnel cake or two.
