April showers only seemed to invite even more rain showers in May! Thankfully, the gloomy weather didn’t stop us from enjoying special moments together celebrating Sean’s 18th birthday and Easter early in April.
April turned out to be a bit of an emotional roller coaster for me, filled with both joyful highs and heartfelt lows. One especially difficult moment was the passing of my dear friend Barbara, who was truly one of Crystalyn’s Creative Attic’s biggest fans and supporters. She will be deeply missed.
The month was also filled with many happy occasions, including shows and concerts featuring my granddaughter Kristina, the Harvest Spring Craft Fair in Dallas, PA, and several family birthdays worth celebrating. To top it all off, I received a clean bill of health from my cardiologist after both my Echo and Nuclear Stress Test—a blessing I am very thankful for.
May began with my very first visit to a holistic dentist in Millburn, NJ. The experience was much gentler and free from products that could trigger my allergies. Unfortunately, there was one major hiccup—I got a flat tire on a busy highway on my way to the appointment and ended up waiting nearly three hours for a tow truck! Needless to say, I missed the appointment that day, but I’m making up for it now.
Mother’s Day was a little quieter this year without Crystalyn and her family, but my son Bobby stepped in as my knight in shining armor and spent the day with me watching a marathon of “Agent Carter” from Marvel Comics on Netflix. I got completely hooked! Every episode was packed with intrigue, suspense, and action.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention attending my goddaughter Sasha’s graduation from New Jersey Institute of Technology, where she graduated from the College of Engineering! I could not be prouder of her as she continues studying to become a clinical psychologist.
There was also Kristina’s Band Concert at Marshall Hill Elementary on the 27th, which was another proud family moment.
Today, I wrapped up the month visiting my cousin Margie for the second time this month. As always, before one visit even ends, we’re already planning the next! Our time together is always filled with laughter, joking around, endless games of “Hand and Foot,” and enjoying her husband’s playful bantering. Those moments together are truly good for the soul.
I cannot wait to see what June has in store for me next.
With warm regards,
Linda
